February 5 - Starry Safari - Come enjoy the nocturnal beauty of Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, watch the stars, and listen to the night-time sounds, as we venture out into the park at dark. Using spotlights, we’ll go on a guided after-dark adventure. We will feature both the exotic and native nocturnal wildlife at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and give you the opportunity to sit back, relax, and enjoy the night. After the tour, we will view an interactive astronomy presentation. Observe the night sky through telescopes with the Lipan Astronomy & Space Society. During the viewing there will be an interactive night sky program using a laser beam that will make you feel like you can touch the stars. Details: Includes admission to the Scenic Wildlife Drive which can be used the day of Starry Safari or the morning after (before 10:00am). March 6 - 2-Day Photography Workshop - Fossil Rim is offering a 2-day photography workshop on Saturday March 6th and Sunday March 7th. The workshop will consist of the following: 3 to 4 hour classroom session which will cover different aspects of wildlife photography taught by instructors Brian and Shirley Loflin; a tour conducted during dusk for the best light possible; dinner at Safari Camp; evaluation of the day’s photos by the instructor; an overnight stay in a safari style cabin; breakfast at Safari Camp; a tour conducted during dawn for the best light possible; sack lunch; dismissal. The tours will go through Fossil Rim’s 1700 acre pastures. There are 59 species of animals here at Fossil Rim.
